Bike Trip to Guatemala 2008

A journey from Vancouver, BC, Canada to Guatemala City, Guatemala.  At least part of the tirp will be done by bike.

Some of the participants want to arrive for the Americas Social Forum ( http://www.forosocialamericas.org/ ) October 7 -12, 2008.

It has been proposed that we take ground tranporation to El Paso, Texas and begin the bike trip in Juárez, Mexico.

It has been proposed that one of the main purposes of the trip is to draw attention to violence against women and connect the activists working on this issue in British Columbia, Mexico and Guaremala.

Some particpants also want to use this trip to demonstrate more climate friendly means of tranportation.
