Art Work for The Big One by Jill Bliss~

Jill grew up on a family farm in northern california -- where everything from the food, the house, the farm machinery, and even the family computers were handbuilt or cultivated. a graduate of parsons school of design in new york and cca in san francisco, her academic and professional background includes fashion design, illustration and design theory. whether designing limited edition paper goods and accessories or fine art pieces, all of Jill's work reveals a fondness for combining fabric, paper, and other found materials. drawing, sewing, and meticulous hand-craftsmanship are all put to use while attempting to rekindle human interest in the small details within natural and handmade objects.

Jill graciously said "yes" to The Big One and is allowing us to use her beautiful image of a sea turtle bearing the weight of a city on her back as she swims in the sea~  What a beautiful gift Jill is sharing with our community of life~

Dave Woodruff's gift to The Big ONE was his time and talent to design our flyers and Poster using Jill Bliss's beautiful Turtle.  Thank you for your generosity Dave~

Me describing me.... My name is Dave. Technically David. David Walter Woodruff. They spelled my middle name "Water" on my first college diploma, I kinda like water better. My parents came up with it. I would have come up with something better, but I wasn't given the opportunity. Since then, I have made a habit at coming up with things. I'm a writer, designer, photographer and addicted to soaking up the things that make life interesting, absurd and beautiful. I have degrees in art, philosophy and literature. So I like books, art and the world. Good thing the world holds the other two inside. Actually, if you think of it, your heart holds the whole world inside of it. I mean everything... It holds everything we are and everything we will ever do or be. It is the doorway to who we are. Scientists might argue that the brain does this, but maybe they just like to argue. There always a place for arguers too.

Poetry: A gift of the world...

For My Mother Nature is peace.

She of sea, of season and beauty, light and moon. A language to breath and believe. Through me a new cycle of truth and passion. Our energy.

~ James Hanusa

WHEN SNAKES AWAKE

When snakes awake and fish relocate, When chimps act up and the catfish jump, When rats leave town and cows head for high ground, bats change their ways flying in the days . . . . . And those snakes . . . they just won¹t hibernate, in the face of a coming quake - The animals "they know" the earth¹s about to rock and roll

It's wonderful to see people giving of their gifts and time freely in this current culture of money. I feel so inspired that we have managed to cultivate relationships with many organisations and individuals who have been willing to participate in this effort only because they are moved to do so and not becuase they expect any direct monetary benefit. Thank you Jill so much for this wonderful gift.

Thank You deeply, Jill. You have a signature style, that's beautiful and calming. The sea turtle is the Big One, the grand mama of it all.
