Updates:

• Sphinx Search has been rolled out across the site.  This will allow searching via longitude/latitude coordinates, instead of just the name of a location.  We'll be working on our geo-caching process to obtain more timely returns of geographic coordinates for location names.  This will eventually allow API clients to get content based on a geographic proximity, such as within 25 miles of an address in San Francisco.  This new change will disrupt usage of the Search API for the time being, but Oz will be working to make the API compatible with Sphinx Search next week
• New API documentation has been published.  We've sectioned it out more according to Kiva and Twitter's documentation, hopefully making it more readable and easier to find information.  Honore will be continuously updating the documentation with more coding examples
• Reduced number of Event and Resource "type" fields - the number of Event types and Resource types was becoming unwieldy, so we've consolidated these types in a smaller number of categories.  This is part of our overall process toward simplifying data entry in WiserEarth, which will lower some of the barriers toward content creation

Next up:

• Search API will be fixed by Oz
• Geo-caching improvements

We'll be hosting our 5th call toward the end of October - I will send further updates on what progress/changes have been made to the API prior to that call.
