Live Chat : Tutorial

Here on WiserEarth we use something that is called an IRC channel for live chatting. This is an early version of real-time communication on the internet.
Step Three: Click Login and you are on your way!
If you would like to have an individual conversation with another user, it is best to arrange another method of communication via messaging them through their profile page. We do not have the capability to support private conversations at this time.

 Step One: Select live chat!

| You can join the Wiser Earth community in a constant chat by clicking the Join us in live chat button in the yellow/green bar all the way to the right. |
 Step Two: Choose a Nickname

| By choosing this link, a new window or tab will open to reveal an IRC log in. The first field can be changed to a user name of your preference. In this example the name WiserUser764 was created randomly and can be changed by typing directly into the box. Your nickname can be different every time you log in and you may choose any handle that you would like. |

| You can use the information on the this image to sign in with your own IRC client too. For Mac users we recommend Colloquy and for PC users we recommend X-Chat 2. For further help in this method, contact adam. |
