It has been a busy season for us here at Puget Sound Community Change - lots of learning and growth - and we wish the same for you!

Thank you Yurie and Yusuke
Yurie and Yusuke, business students from Japan, worked with us during August while studying with iLEAP  at Antioch.  They were wonderful, entertaining, and extremely helpful.  We savor their curiosity!

Featured Beneficiaries

Congratulations to the team and volunteers over at EarthCorps who beat their Summer Youth Challenge! The challenge was for 1,000 volunteers to get their hands dirty doing environmental service with EarthCorps in July and August. Despite one of the

coldest, rainiest summers on record, people turned out in record numbers: 1,484 in all!  The region’s parks, natural areas and beaches are all the healthier for it!  Nice job EarthCorps!

EarthCorps’ World Night!  September 13
Learn about the amazing environmental work that EarthCorps’ international participants are doing both here in the Seattle region and in their home countries.  Learn about monitoring endangered river dolphins in Pakistan; keeping invasive plants away from bat caves in Serbia, and more! Entrance is free, there’s great dinner including an international smorgasbord, cultural performances, and lots of fun! 

PCC Healthy Living Fair, September 13 - 14
Come down to the Issaquah store for samples from 80 vendors of more than 400 products, cooking workshops and taste-testing for the kids!  

Sustainable September - Downtown Kirkland Green Festival, September 17
Throughout the month of September there will be events in East King County to highlite the businesses and organizations there who are committed to growing the local economy and practicing environmental stewardship.  Be sure to check out the Street Dance, Live Music Performances, Farmer's Market, Harvest Dinner/Grape Stomp and Local Leaders Presentations.  We'll be there giving away free Puget Sound Community Change Cards at the Outdoor Eco-Market. 

People For Puget Sound Golf Classic, September 23
Join the fun at the Elk Run Golf Course in Maple Valley.  $75 gets you a cart, continental breakfast and lunch, and qualify for prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin.

PCC Farmland Trust Annual Ames Creek Farm Tour, - September 27
Come meet the farmers and see how thousands of donors are able to play a part in the local farming community! Activities include hayride farm tours, live music, cooking demonstrations, food sampling, fun activities for kids, and opportunities to learn about the non-profit partners that support these local farms.
