Individual wiki-pages (parts of a whole wiki) are documents that are editable by every member of the group. These documents might include video, photos, text and any other types of information.  The key idea is that anyone can (and often should) add to or update the wiki page once it's been created. As such, if you want to create a new wiki page, first think about the malleability of your content: Would it benefit from constant changes? For example, this very page should be altered by any member who has an idea about how best to use wiki pages in this group. But it's not a place for members to discuss whether or not something is a valuable addition to the wiki page (unlike wikipedia, we don't have talk pages- themselves wiki pages- linked to each main wiki page).

Wiki technology can be a useful tool for collaborative research, but luckily it's not the only tool. There are events and organization listings and resource links and jobs. There are also discussions, which are a great place for brainstorming and questioning, and where most of the ideas will be generated in this collaborative research project.

As a key example, the main project will begin it's life as a wiki page in this group: something which every member is highly encouraged to edit, but also something about which members should be mindful when they edit.
