Design Project: The Free Farm Stand Food Forest

Edit this Page

The Free Farm Stand is a project of the Ninos Unidos Community Garden/ Treat Commons at 23rd and Treat Street in the Mission.  The stakeholders are the community gardeners, and a diverse group of neighborhood residents.

The Free Farm Stand currently operates on Sundays, and is designed to return food production and distribution to a low-income, mixed use neighborhood in an urban setting.  There is a piece of unused land adjacent to the community garden that stakeholders would like to be turned into a free local food production area.  The park is currently managed by the SF Rec & Park Dept.  For more information on the community garden and the Free Farm Stand,  check out Tree's blog here: http://www.freefarmstand.org/
