This product was developed as a result to a NASA project in the early 90's. It seems to have merit and usefulness for our current disaster in the SF Bay.

Thanks Michael, They asked me to join the board due to my environmental work. Once I got involved I suggested that they test a soy based product and it passed with flying colors. The product we are getting licensed in California is made with 100% soy wax instead of beeswax. Considering the bee situation this seems like a more earth friendly alternative.

I serve on the board of directors of the company that makes this product (Universal Remediation, Inc.). We currently have an application filed with the Department of Fish and Game Office of Oil Spill Prevention and Response. Hopefully we will soon have a green light for use in state waters. Several clean-up groups wanted to use the product on the bay, but we could not endorse it's use due to lack of a state oil spill clean-up agent (OSCA) license.
