How You Can Help Promote the Earth Charter Vision

As part of our effort to empower activity in the Earth Charter Initiative in a very decentralized way, ECI is now offering a variety of tools, guidelines, and recommended actions to inspire you to action. Here are six specific areas of activity for promoting the spirit of the Earth Charter as a worldwide global initiative.

You can help to communicate and inform so that more and more people know that the Earth Charter exists as a widely shared set of principles to guide the actions of people throughout the world in service to the common good.

You can help to ensure that more and more people organize themselves in self-generated, self-organizing, more organic, "biological" forms of collective action/mutual aid - in person or virtually - to creatively resolve all issues that require the effective and equitable allocation of time/ energy/ knowledge/ expertise/ know-how/ services, and even material resources, thereby fostering an "economy of abundance", replacing excessive dependence on money with genuine service, sharing of space, equipment, labs, technological resources, unused credit, mileage credits, etc.

How You Can Help Earth Charter International

ECI seeks volunteer translators, fundraisers, project sponsors, communicators, presenters, letter-writers, and contributors of all kinds of in-kind services to help us in our mission "to establish a sound ethical foundation for the emerging global society and to promote the transition to a sustainable way of life."

Below, you can register your interest and willingness to help us. We have organized the kinds of help we are looking for into seven different "Projects." Just click on the link below, tell us which Project you are interested in, and a member of our Team will contact you as soon as possible.

Project 1 - Translation of the Earth Charter into new languages (click here to see which translations already exist)

Project 2 - Fundraising for ECI, to help spread the Earth Charter and its vision, and to support action projects around the world

Project 3 - Sponsorship of an Earth Charter exhibition, publication, or workshop (providing space, services, and/or funds for specific initiatives) ... or become a major donor to the general Earth Charter Fund

Project 4 - Communication - Write stories, take pictures, create videos for the web, make a movie, write a song ... or anything else having to do with creative communications and the arts

Project 5 - Give presentations on the Earth Charter to schools, professional groups, religious groups, clubs etc.

Project 6 - Write letters to leaders in business, government and institutions making them aware of the Earth Charter (we provide you with sample text)

Project 7 - Contribute anything else you can think of that might help advance the Earth Charter's ethical vision and principles! These might range from IT services, to staging a concert, to free office space somewhere in the world, to materials that could help our Earth Charter Youth Groups or Affiliates (especially in developing countries). Use your imagination ... coupled to your generosity and commitment to a better world.
