Land restoration is the practice of restoring the ecosystem functions, such as nutrient cycling, the hydrological balance and ecosystem resilience, to land that has been degraded, contaminated, or disturbed by human development and industrial activity. Restoring the original flora of the site may be a goal of land restoration.
