Certified Timber Harvesting
![]() Photo source |
In an attempt to make the global wood products industry more environmentally friendly, various "green certification" initiatives have begun to monitor tree harvesting and other forestry practices. When considered enviro-friendly, the trees or cut wood receives a green seal, ecolabel or "report card" verifying enviro-friendly practices. The program can be third party, in-house, voluntary or required; address the production methods; or simply certify the product. Forest biodiversity protection may or may not be included. |
