Rights and Equality of LGBT

Med_gayrights Basic human rights and equality have been denied to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people on the basis of their sexual orientation. Equality means that people, regardless of their sexual orientation, have the same opportunities to fulfill their human rights and potential, and are not denied equal access on the basis of their sexual orientation to services, to jobs, to education, to economic development, to the allocation of resources or benefits, and in all aspects of life.

Center for Lesbian and Gay Civil Rights The Center's mission is to advocate equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals in Pennsylvania through direct legal services, education and policy reform.

Founded in 1996, the Center is the only organization in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania offering direct legal services for the LGBT community. The Center is home to the country's only law student clinic dedicated to LGBT issues.

In addition to our legal services, the Center speaks to thousands of individuals yearly through panels, forums and workshops to educate the LGBT community, our allies and the larger community about issus of importance to LGBT people.
