Indoor air quality (IAQ) describes the attributes and the pollution level of the air inside a confined space, such as a building. IAQ is determined by characteristics such as gaseous composition, temperature, relative humidity, and airborne contaminant levels (e.g. of mold, bacteria, chemicals, and allergens), which can exist in the air and that affect human and nonhuman health.
