Environmental Ethics

Environmental ethics explores the moral values and ethical relationship between human beings and the environment in which they live. In sustainability projects, players ask: What do we want (if no barriers existed to our desires)? What do we know? What will we accept (given the situation)? Asking what we want and what we will accept always incorporates environmental ethics as it may be difficult to clearly and practically perceive one's desires and the future consequences of actions. The line between ethical and spiritual or religious judgment is not clear.

Howdy there,

I read a quote of Aldo Leopold, who is awesome, that has stuck with me the past couple of days. He says, "we can be ethical only in relation to something we can see, feel, love, understand, or otherwise have faith in."

Too true! That quote begs the question we must ask within ourselves and that is "what in nature, if anything, do we see, feel, love, understand, or have faith in."

Peace,
Wolfmarch
