| Green schools are schools that teach and foster environmental awareness and sustainability by creating a small-scale model of an ecologically sustainable society in the school, encouraging students to take environmentally responsible action and by physically greening the school environment. Environmental responsibility is part of the green school ethos and may be demonstrated by activities such as having an environmental curriculum, building green school buildings, and implementing recycling programs in the school and local community. | |
