Information and communication technology (ICT) refers to the ability to have the skills, and physical and financial means, to access information particularly using computer based communications technology, such as the Internet. The ability to access and use information and communication technology is seen as a way of overcoming the 'digital divide'-the gap in access to technology that exacerbates economic, social, and developmental inequalities.

AHHHH. Now I find the ICT portal page. I love it! But it is missing the other parts: Resources, Organizations, Events. The high visibiilty given to the other AofFs could be used for such topics. I like the multimedia aspects.... I still feel we have to provide high level access to the Digital Divide Listserv
and to highlight projects: eg, Patriensa Solar Powered Community Center in Ghana http://www.patriensa.com/.... Greenstar'shttp://www.greenstar.org Michael North (a WE member) headed the effort to crete this center (see the sight for other projects; they were pioneers in this effort, beginning with Jamaca and the West Bank)
