Women's Civic Participation

Definition
Women's civic participation addresses the ability of women to actively participate in community, local, and national institutions, as well as removing the gender-based social, cultural, and economic barriers to civic and democratic participation. Effective civic participation of women strengthens institutions and empowers women to be leaders within their communities.
