Perissodactyls

Perissodactyls
Rhinos, horses, donkeys, zebras, asses, and tapirs are examples of Perissodactyls. Perissodactyls are members of the order Perissodactyla and are odd-toed ungulates that are large browsing and grazing mammals with relatively simple stomachs and a large middle toe. There are seventeen species. Horses and donkeys have been introduced into the New World and Australia, sometimes domesticated, sometimes free-ranging. The provide meat, transport, and recreation. They are grazers and browsers with major impacts on grassland and savanna ecosystems. All rhinos, the Przewalski's horse, and a few asses are considered threatened.
