Conservation Area Creation
| Conservation area creation is the practice of identifying and protecting terrestrial, wetland, and marine areas that have biological and cultural value by securing government or private land tenure and management rules that specifically address the ecological integrity of the area. The rules include protecting an area from loss, damage, or depletion, and ensuring its preservation for future generations. Conservation areas include habitats and ecosystems, geological and physiographical features, and areas that have scientific, aesthetic, and cultural value. There are now over three thousand national parks, sanctuaries, protected forests, and similar set-asides in the world. |
