Women's Rights
Women's rights are those basic human rights that tradition, prejudice, and social, economic, and political interests have combined to relegate to "special interest" status within the human rights framework, which women are working to redress. These include changing the understanding of human rights to reflect more gender nuanced definitions, as well as promoting gender-specific rights such as reproductive rights, and advancing the protection and respect for women's rights.
