Raptors

Raptors

Raptors are carnivorous birds of prey. Hawks, eagles, falcons, and owls are typical raptors, and are distinguished by strong hooked beaks and taloned feet. They are more endangered than any other type of bird. They are killed as varmints, illegally traded for skins or falconry, impacted by pesticides and habitat destruction. Recent deaths have occurred at wind generators and transmission lines.
