Insects

A class of animals with its body distinctly divided into head, thorax, and abdomen. Most have three pairs of legs and two pairs of wings. They are the only invertebrates that can fly. Insects provide ecosystem services (e.g. pollination) but are pests to crops and transmit specific diseases (e.g. malaria). There are over a million species including dragonflies, cockroaches, grasshoppers, crickets, termites, ants, true bugs, aphids, cicadas, beetles, moths and butterflies, bees, wasps, fleas, and true flies. Over six hundred species have been listed as threatened. Med_bee
