Prison Reform and Policy

Definition
Prison reform and policy refers to the practice of creating new regulations and practices, and of changing existing ones that have been adopted by a government or an organization, and that govern activity related to prisons, through campaigning, lobbying, advocacy and direct action, including prison conditions, the treatment of convicted criminals, access to due process from inside prison, and the treatment and rights of suspects who should be presumed innocent until proven guilty.
