Definition
Poverty alleviation (or reduction) describes strategies to eradicate poverty. It is any process which seeks to reduce the level of poverty in a community, or amongst a group of people or countries. Poverty alleviaton programs may be aimed at economic or non-economic poverty. Some of the popular methods used are education, economic development, and income redistribution. Poverty alleviation efforts may also be aimed at removing social and legal barriers to income growth among the poor. Economists such as Hernando de Soto see improvement in property rights as being instrumental in poverty reduction. Other economists also highlight government corruption as a chief problem in reducing poverty in the developing world.

The Venus Project Org.

Imagine a world without war, poverty, misery, or injustice. Imagine a world of Love, Peace, Abundance, Tolerance, Freedom where all people could work together in a spirit of cooperation and not competition. Imagine a world where we could all develop the best of our potential as individuals and as a global family…  A young and spirited 93 years old man Jacques Fresco, the creator of the Venus Project,  has been working all his life to achieve these aims, dreaming a better world and working passionately to make it come true. Would you imagine if we all shared the same dream and we could all dedicate part of our lives to make it happen? Would you imagine if all the people and institutions within the Wiser Earth network worked together and spent part of our time designing our common future? This is what the Zeitgeist Movement and the Venus Project are trying to accomplish. More than 350.000 people have already joined the Project. You are welcome to networking with us. Your ideas and suggestions will help us to realise our common dream.

Kind regards, David Wilson
